Can't start Dragon Age 2 from MS Surface Studio - virtual environment error

I'm getting an error when trying to start Dragon Age 2 (installed via Origin) from my desktop. I get a pop-up telling me the program won't run from a virtual environment. I'm not using one.

I've seen other threads about this indicating that a version of Origin designed for MS Surface is needed but I can't find it anywhere. Can you help me find it?

Thanks

Jim

This is Origin's web site and you can check or contact them to see if there is a version for Surface.

There is no special version of Origin for Surface devices. Surfaces run Windows like any other computer with no special edition.

You likely have Hyper-V turned on. Check whether Hyper-V is on, and turn it off if you don't need it. You likely don't.

Go to the guide above, skip to Step 2: Installing Hyper-V, and follow substeps 3, 4, and 5. Instead of enabling Hyper-V, disable it instead.

Since you do not use virtualization, right click on the "Menu" on in the search box on the left side, type in "Windows features" (without quotes) and look for "turning features on or off".  When you do that, on the right side panel will list all of the features for Windows and look for "Hyper V" and turn it off.

After doing that, reboot the machine and try the game again.
