Changes to optional features in Feature Management

Optional features now mandatory
- Feature: Enable MCP Server access (Note: In 28.0, this feature is listed in Feature Management and Enabled for all users. However, disabling the feature has no effect. The feature will be removed from Feature Management in a future update.)

On-premises download packages
Select and download the package for the appropriate country/region version from Microsoft Support.
Upgrade to 28.0
Online customers
- New customers get Business Central version 28.0 automatically.
- Existing customers are notified when update 28.0 is available. Admins can schedule update 28.0 to any date within the 5-month update period, which ends on August 31, 2026.

On-premises customers
Deployments using version 24 or earlier must upgrade to version 25 before upgrading to version 28. Learn more in Upgrading to Dynamics 365 Business Central 2026 release wave 1.
Several objects marked as obsolete in these earlier versions are no longer included in the base application. Learn more in Important information and considerations when upgrading to Business Central version 28.
