Business value
This feature helps ensure that every invoice and sales document your customers receive is clear, professional, and easy to understand by letting you define a companywide default language for all customer-facing documents. By decoupling document language from the individual user’s UI language, it eliminates the risk of accidentally sending invoices in the wrong language, an issue that commonly arises in multilingual teams serving primarily local markets. As a result, local customers consistently receive documents in the expected language, improving clarity, reducing follow-up questions or misunderstandings, and strengthening trust in your business. At the same time, the new Default Language Code setting gives you better control without sacrificing flexibility, supporting international scenarios where different language requirements still apply, and ultimately delivering a more reliable and polished customer experience.
Feature details
Previously, the language used on invoices and other sales documents was determined by the language of the user creating or printing the document. This could lead to unintended results in local businesses that primarily serve domestic customers.
For example, even if all customers are local and expect documents in the local language, employees working in a different UI language could inadvertently generate invoices in a foreign language—making them difficult for customers to read.
To address this, we’ve introduced a new Default Language Code field on the Company Information page.
You can now define a companywide default language for customer-facing documents. Local customers will consistently receive invoices and other sales documents in the expected language, regardless of the user’s UI language. This improves clarity, reduces confusion, and ensures a better customer experience, especially in multilingual teams.
This new setting provides better control over document language while maintaining flexibility for international scenarios.
