Phone link and an external microphone

In the past, I was able to use my Yeti microphone with Phone Link. I could make and receive calls. Some time ago, I can't say when exactly, the microphone on Phone Link became greyed out, and I can no longer make and receive calls through Phone Link.

My microphone works fine with all other programs. I liked being able to take a call on my desktop and swing my mic over to speak. I haven't been able to do that for some time.

I have already tried a number of troubleshooting suggestions: uninstall and reinstall (through PowerShell) Phone link, cleared cache, checked permissions (PhoneLink does not appear as an installed app.) I even spent an hour with Copilot and it couldn't help. I'm running out of options.

Right, this is not a configuration issue, it’s an architectural lock. No amount of resetting can override Bluetooth HFP. But you can still use Phone Link for notifications, not calls

    Take calls:

    Directly on the phone

Or via a PC app that supports USB mics (Teams, Zoom, Google Voice, etc.)

This is the exact screen you were on before.

    Press Win + R

    Paste:

    control printers

    Press Enter

    You should now see:

    • Your PC
    • Mouse, keyboard, headphones
    • Your phone icon (this is the graphic you remember)

    Now:

    Right-click your phone

    Select Properties

    Go to the Services tab

    RE-CHECK:

    • Hands-Free Telephony

    Click Apply → OK

Restart your PC after this. This is the exact screen you were on before.
