My static web app occasionally goes completely unresponsive with message
'The service behind this page isn't responding to Azure Front Door.'

This error started to occur after months of healthy service.

The x-azure-ref ID is: 20251207T125857Z-r1f7c686f575v9nbhC1SELe4qg00000004fg000000004zgq.

My backend has no glaring issues that could cause this.

The 504 Front Door Timeout message you're encountering with your Azure Static Web App indicates that Azure Front Door is unable to get a response from your backend service within the expected time frame. This can happen for several reasons, including:

    1. Backend Service Performance: If your backend service is slow to respond or is experiencing high load, it may not respond in time, leading to a timeout.
    2. Configuration Issues: Ensure that your Azure Front Door is correctly configured to communicate with your backend service. Check the origin settings and timeout configurations.
    3. Intermittent Issues: Sometimes, intermittent issues can occur due to network problems or temporary outages in the backend service.

    To troubleshoot this issue:

    • Monitor the performance of your backend service to ensure it can handle the load.
    • Check the Azure Front Door configuration, especially the timeout settings, which can be adjusted if necessary.
    • Use Application Insights to gather more detailed logs and error messages that can help identify the root cause of the problem.

If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Azure support for further assistance.
