Hello,

I hope I’ve selected the right tags, I’ve never done this before.

Anyway, my problem: I have had my Dell Inspiron Gaming Desktop for not quite 5 years now, and for as long as I can remember, it’s been prone to crashing, displaying memory management 0x1A every time. I have no idea why this is, and to my knowledge, there doesn’t appear to be any overlap in what I’m doing when this happens, as it has crashed when I’m playing video games, on a Discord call, watching YouTube, when I’m doing nothing and the computer is idle, immediately upon booting up, and even before the computer has finished booting up, etc.

It used to be very infrequent, but more recently it’s become extremely common, happening every other day, sometimes multiple days in a row, and almost always multiple times in a day if it has already crashed once in that day. For example, my computer crashes, it reboots, it immediately crashes again, repeat. It has crashed up 6 times in a row on multiple occasions, crashing during or immediately after completing the reboot process. (As I’m looking at where to find my DMP files in case they’re needed, I can see that my computer has crashed 4 times today, in a span of fewer than 2 hours.)

I have tried cleaning, and unseating and reseating the RAM, cleaning, and unseating and reseating the memory modules, checking for loose wires, and running multiple Windows Memory Diagnostics, which always come back reporting no issues. I have seen people look at DMP files to diagnose errors, but I have no idea how to do this personally, so I wanted to try asking for help myself. Lastly, I’m not sure if it’s relevant but I’ll mention it in case it’s of any help as I have seen updating drivers suggested for solving my issue: my computer has a Radeon graphics card for which updating the drivers has been literally impossible due to one issue or another with the AMD Radeon updating process that I can’t seem to find a solution to. I don’t believe it’s that out of date, but at the very least the drivers don’t have the most recent update.

I apologise for the length of the question, I just want to give as much detail as possible as I desperately want to find a solution for these crashes and I’ve been procreating asking for help for far too long.

Thank for you any assistance.

The MEMORY_MANAGEMENT bug check with the stop code 0x0000001A indicates that a server memory management error occurred. Given the frequent crashes you are experiencing, it is essential to investigate the underlying causes thoroughly. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Collect a Memory Dump: Since you mentioned DMP files, collecting a memory dump can help diagnose the problem. You can follow the instructions in the Microsoft documentation on how to collect an OS memory dump file for troubleshooting.
    2. Check for Hardware Issues: Since you've already reseated the RAM and checked for loose connections, consider running hardware diagnostics provided by your system manufacturer to rule out any hardware issues.
    3. Update Drivers: Although you mentioned difficulties updating your Radeon graphics card drivers, ensuring that all your drivers are up to date is crucial. You might want to try using the AMD Auto-Detect tool for graphics drivers, which can simplify the process.
    4. Run Windows Memory Diagnostics: You have already run this tool, but if you haven't done so recently, it might be worth running it again to ensure there are no intermittent issues with your RAM.
    5. Check Event Viewer: Look in the Event Viewer for any critical errors that occurred around the time of the crashes. This could provide more insight into what might be causing the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT errors.
    6. Consider System Restore or Reset: If the issue persists and you suspect it might be software-related, consider performing a system restore to a point before the crashes began or resetting Windows while keeping your files.

If the problem continues after these steps, it may be beneficial to create a support request with Azure support or consult with a professional technician for further assistance.

Please check to see if your PC is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up.

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive... etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link.

Then post the link here to the zip file, so I can take a look for you.
