Why I can switch camera options in Zoom but not in Clipchamp? Clipchamp doesn't switch the camera views after I selected a different camera under the drop down menu. I already checked to make sure that the camera permissions are correct.

That's a good observation, Vince! Thanks for sharing the details.

Put it this way, Clipchamp only reads the camera list once, so it does not re-initialize the hardware after the first device is chosen. Compared to Zoom, it dynamically refreshes camera devices while running.

Also, take note that Clipchamp is very sensitive to camera conflicts. You have to make sure these apps are completely closed, not minimized, then restart Clipchamp.

If that does not fix it,

    • Settings then Apps then Installed apps
    • Find Clipchamp
    • Click Advanced options
    • Try Repair first
    • If still broken: Reset (this keeps your files)

See if this helps. If you need further assistance just let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly

    Go here: https://app.clipchamp.com

Check camera switching there. If the web version does switch cameras, this confirms the bug is within the desktop version.

Once confirmed, disable one camera temporarily.

This forces Clipchamp to rebuild its camera list.

    • Device Manager then Cameras
    • Right-click Camera 1 then Disable device
    • Open Clipchamp then it should now only show Camera 2
    • Close Clipchamp
    • Re-enable Camera 1
    • Open Clipchamp again

    Hi Kimberly,

The web version doesn't switch cameras either.

I went ahead and forced Clipchamp to rebuild its camera list anyway. After I disabled camera 1, Clipchamp showed camera 2. However, when I closed Clipchamp and re-enabled camera 1, and then opened Clipchamp again, Clipchamp only showed camera 1 even though camera 2 was selected. So we're back to square one.

    Any other ideas?

Thanks so much for your help!
