How to remove a person access from a Loop Page?

Hi everyone,

I created a workspace where I’m listed as the owner, and within it, I made a page. On that page, I accidentally mentioned the wrong person, and now they have access to it.

The problem is, I can’t find any option to remove them or change their access level. When I click on their name, I get this message:

“Grant access is not available because you are not the owner of this item.”

But I am the owner of the workspace.

Does anyone know an easy way to remove this person’s access to the page without having to delete the entire page?

In Microsoft Loop, if you are unable to remove a person's access to a page despite being the owner of the workspace, it may be due to the specific permissions set for that page. Since you mentioned that you can't change their access level and are receiving a message indicating that you are not the owner of the item, it suggests that the page might have different ownership or permission settings than the workspace itself.

To resolve this, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check Page Ownership: Ensure that you are indeed the owner of the specific page and not just the workspace. Ownership can sometimes be different for individual pages.
    2. Contact Support: If you confirm that you are the owner and still cannot change access, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance, as there may be a technical issue or a specific permission setting that needs to be adjusted.
    3. Review Permissions: If the page is shared with a Microsoft 365 Group, check the group settings as they may override individual permissions.

Currently, the documentation does not provide a direct method for removing access from a Loop Page without being the owner of that specific page. Therefore, contacting support may be the best option if you cannot resolve the issue through the interface.

    Hi @Gustavo Maciel

    Welcome to Q&A Community!

Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue where mentioning a user on a Microsoft Loop page granted them access, and you are unable to remove that access.

I have tested this scenario in my environment, and the behavior I observed was not identical to what you described. To ensure we address this accurately, could you please review and confirm the following details:

    1. In the page’s Manage Access panel, are you listed as the Owner or as a Contributor?
    2. Are you the owner of both the workspace and the page, or only the workspace?
    3. When you select Share and then Manage Access, do you see the user listed with their assigned role?
    4. Is the option to remove or modify their access visible?
    5. Did you mention the user in a component within the page or on the page itself?
    6. Were any sharing settings adjusted after the mention?

Please follow these steps to try removing their access via Manage Access:

    1. Open the page in Microsoft Loop.
    2. Click Share in the upper-right corner.
    3. Select Manage Access.
    4. Locate the user in the list and, if available, click the ellipsis (…) next to their name to remove or change their role.

In case you are listed as the owner of the page and still cannot remove the user’s access, this may be related to a known background issue that has been reported in the Microsoft Q&A forum: How do I remove direct access after I mention someone in microsoft loop - Microsoft Q&A

In such cases, I recommend submitting feedback through the Microsoft Feedback Portal. Your feedback is valuable, and I will personally ensure that your submission receives an upvote to help prioritize this issue.

Thank you for your cooperation, and please let me know if you need further clarification. I’m happy to help.
