Hello,

We are experiencing an issue when redirecting to our Application from Edge on Android. When we click on dynamic links to redirect to our application it redirects us to the Google play store instead.

This seems to happen on Android version 14/15. When I tested this on Android 13 the notification to redirect to an external app appeared and had no issues redirecting.

However on mobile devices on Android version 14/15 the notification to redirect to an external app appears for a split seconds and doesn't allow the user to make a choice before opening Google play store.

This does not happen when utilizing Chrome, we are able to properly open our application with the dynamic link we present.

Furthermore, we tried all the steps listed in the below thread and nothing remediated the issue.

Videos of the Chrome and Edge use cases.

    Hi @Elijah Barton,

Thank you for the detailed report—we're sorry for the frustration with Edge's quick-dismissing intent picker on Android 14/15, leading to Play Store redirects instead of opening your app. Unfortunately, the video links you provided aren't accessible on our end right now (possibly due to attachment restrictions), so if you could re-share them via a public link that would help us diagnose further.

Here are more specific workarounds, based on recent user reports and our troubleshooting guides:

    1. Disable Instant Apps and Optimize Defaults:
Settings > Apps > [Menu] > Default apps > Opening links > Toggle Instant Apps OFF. For Edge: Settings > Apps > Edge > Battery > Set to Unrestricted. Additionally, force close Play Store (Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Force stop) and restart your device before testing.
    2. Enable Edge Flags and Turn Off External App Blocking:
Type edge://flags in Edge > Search "intent picker" > Set to Enabled > Relaunch. Then, go to Edge Settings > Site settings > Block opening external apps > Ensure it's turned OFF (this prevents premature blocking of link handoffs). Update Edge via Play Store if not on the latest.

If these don't work, share your Edge version (edge://version), device model, and dynamic link provider for tailored advice.
