I cannot get passwords filled in on Android in apps despite selecting it as the default android autofill service. It worked with Authenticator. Is this supported?
Hi, I was facing that issue. When I logged in my bank acct. it didn't fill up
auto on [Password field] it used to show - The Pop-up to save it. Fixed by
open - Edge passwords reenter all my data & bingo works ok now

I tried that for one saved password for an app, but it didn't work, it still would not autofill in the app I was trying to log in to.

I started having this issue last week. Re-entering passwords does not resolve it. Android apps ignore the Edge password manager feature

However, the current issue is that auto-fill does not work in any apps even after setting it up in Edge.
This issue began about a week ago, and all other companies' auto-fill services are functioning normally.

I have read several articles about this in the past few days and experienced it firsthand at work. Microsoft broke the autofill in the latest Ege update. Microsoft needs to fix this ASAP!

I have this same exact issue as well. Was working fine a week ago. Edge refuses to autofill for any app.

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand that you are having issue using the autofill function on Microsoft Edge for Android. When the switch of Autofill from the Authenticator apps to Edge was implied, the generated password history is not retained. So, you will need to reenter the password that was not retained as a work around. You can check the saved passwords in the Edge app by going to Settings > Passwords. I'm having the same issue, but it's not because of generated passwords not being saved. If I go into the edge browser password manager, I have all of my passwords there. However, when I go to log in to an app, despite the password showing in the browser password manager and setting selected to autofill in other apps, it will not autofill it into the app.
I have logged in to several apps (my solar app, paypal, Air miles, Shopping) and the passwords for the app are not getting saved and not being prompted to re-use them when I return. This makes the password manager useless as I cannto rely on it. Should it fill in app passwords as did Authenticator? There are no setting for this in the settings menu and no request to use Accessibility as it had in the past.

I don't think he meant generated password, as it was not usable for password autofill even back when password manager was built in MS Authenticator. The MS Edge on Android not providing any password autofill functionality on 3rd party apps was a recent issue. It worked a few days ago, but it suddenly broke and I can't still find any workaround. I'm using Samsung S25 with Edge set as password autofill provider.

Right now, I suggest that you could try an alternate option which is the Edge Canary apps, this app is an insider program for Edge and will receive updates and patches earlier than the normal version.
I started using Bitwarden instead. It has a mobile app and browser extension. I'd prefer MS fix Edge quickly because I'd rather use 1 app for as much as possible so my phone doesn't get bloated with so many apps, which is why I liked MS Authenticator being Authentication app and password manager all in 1. I have a Samsung s23 so it seems to be related to their programming for android

I am using Edge since long before, all my passwords are present in it, the auto-fill is working in Edge app just not in other apps
Canary hasn't been updated for more than a week. According to google play store, the last version was published on Sept 30th.
It's been a while since we last heard from you. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi, I'm having the same issuesv as the others here. I have NEVER used the authenticator autofill, I've always used the edge autofill and it just stopped working within the last couple of weeks. I'm using a galaxy s23
How do we get this raised as an issue with Microsoft so that the Edge team resolves it?

@aReply4u0084 This issue is for Android, not desktop Edge @JEFFREY POLING On your phone, press the burger button on the bottom right of your screen -> scroll to right, and tap "All menu" -> tap "Help and feedback". I hope more people report this so Edge team will take notice and release a fix soon.
Since Microsoft Edge team has made password autofill functionality broken in Android for months without any signs of improvements, I've decided to stay away from storing my passwords there and use a paid 3rd party app instead. Atleast I know I have supports for one of the most important features I use daily instead of this uncertainty.
