Task by Planner and To do is automatically assigning the task to the user who created it

As of Monday afternoon whenever a task is created in the Teams channel it is automatically assigned to the user who created it which is causing a lot of confusion for the team.

Has anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it?

    I am sorry to hear that you've experienced this, it sounds like this channel is created by that user as private and that is why the task is not being assigned other user. There are certain limitations in a private channel and it is not possible to convert a private channel to another channel type.

    Thank you for the response. I am the creator of the channel and owner. The other users are members. The issue just started Monday evening and we have been using this channel for months without issue.

    Did you check the task buckets created for the group?

    All of the task assigned to creator of the channel by default?

    We are experiencing the same issue. I specifically leave the "Assigned to" blank until we have someone assigned to the task. It is now automatically assigned the task to the creator.

    Major headache for us as well.

    The only work around I have found so far is changing the view from "List" to "Board" and adding the task that way.
