Videos in SCORM Files Edge Android version 116.0.1938.79

Is anyone experiencing issues with videos not playing within SCORM files since the latest Android update of Edge?

I am experiencing either an error message "The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported" or nothing happening at all. These videos play fine in other web browsers and on EDGE desktop.

Is this a settings related thing that needs to be changed or updated within EDGE or is it a error/bug in the release?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Sam,

I'm sorry to hear that none of the suggestions worked for you. It seems like this is a bug in the Edge Android app that affects the playback of videos in SCORM files on Android 13 devices.

    • According to the Microsoft Edge release notes for Mobile Stable Channel, the latest version of Edge Android is 117.0.2045.53, which was released on October 6, 2023. This version fixed various bugs and performance issues, and added some new features, such as support for iOS 17, shared links feature, and improvements to Bing Chat Enterprise. However, there was no mention of fixing the SCORM video issue in this version.

Based on this information, it seems like this is still an unresolved bug in the Edge Android app that affects the playback of videos in SCORM files on Android 13 devices. I apologize for any inconvenience this bug may have caused you.

You can give feedback to Microsoft in the following ways:

In the Edge Android app, tap the "..." icon in the top right corner and select "Settings".

On the Settings page, scroll down and find the Help and Feedback option and tap on it.

On the Help and Feedback page, you can submit your comments or questions to Microsoft by selecting "Send Feedback" or "Report a Problem". You can also select "View Frequently Asked Questions" or "Contact Support" for more help information.

I hope that Microsoft will fix this bug soon and release a new update that will resolve the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Your Sincerely

Microsoft currently advises that the fix is scheduled to be released in Edge version 121.0.2214.0 on Android, unless there are any unforeseen last minute changes. Edge Canary is currently running version 121 and the videos play correctly in it.
