Edge Text to Speech Skipping Paragraphs with Ampersands ("&")

When I use Edge's text to speech feature, I notice that it skips text to the next paragraph as soon as it encounters an ampersand.

I encountered the problem on this page for example:

Sonic & Knuckles - Wikipedia

Microsoft Edge | Audio and video playback | Windows 10

    Hi,

Same thing has been happening here: Edge stops reading aloud and jumps to the next paragraph as soon as it encounters & symbol. On top of that, it will often if not always hang after finishing that subsequent paragraph and needs to be restarted. This makes the & symbol a somewhat dreaded encounter which you hope to not cross, but you end up all too often regardless.

Also, right-clicking on a word (without selecting it first) and clicking read aloud will start reading 2+ paragraphs below. Creating a selection of the word before right-clicking will start reading at the correct place.

These 2 issues make the read aloud feature really annoying to use.

Just updated to the latest version

    Version 126.0.2592.102 (Official build) (64-bit)

I was having this same issue, but the beta seemed to fix the skipping problem. I used the link form the MS tech. above.

Thanks. I tried the beta versions, but the issue persists still. However, in doing so I have discovered that the issue only occurs while using certain voices. It occurs using for instance Microsoft AndrewMultingualOnline (Natural)/Andrew Online (Natural), but does NOT occur when using Microsoft AvaMultilingualOnline (Natural)/Ava Online (Natural). It works just fine then. This is the case for both the beta/production channels.

The flaw is therefore dependant on the selected voice.
