Platform versions are designed to stay compatible with supported application versions throughout the application's support lifecycle.
Critical and non-critical updates
There are two types of updates for finance and operations apps:
- Critical fixes - Include security updates and essential fixes required to meet the service’s availability SLA. Critical fixes are included in the latest service update and, when necessary, may be directly applied to customer environments. Microsoft notifies customers of any required downtime before applying the fix.
- Non-critical updates - Are delivered through regular service updates and quality updates, allowing customers to adopt new features and improvements as part of Microsoft’s continuous update process.
