After you develop an application filter, you will want to test it in a laboratory setting. To do this, configure the lab to represent a network/Forefront TMG-server/Internet situation:
Lab Configuration
Three computers are required to test application filters. One computer functions as the Forefront TMG computer. This computer must have two network adapters. Connect one adapter to a computer representing the internal client and the other to a computer representing the Internet.
