ProviderType Property of the IFPCCookieCryptoConfiguration Interface

The ProviderType property gets or sets the type of the cryptographic service provider used for cookie encryption.

Parameters

• lProviderType
  A 32-bit integer that specifies the cryptographic service provider type used for cookie encryption.

• plProviderType
  Pointer to a variable that is set on return to a 32-bit integer specifying the type of the cryptographic service provider used for cookie encryption.

Return Value

These property methods return S_OK if the call is successful; otherwise, they return an error code.

Remarks

This property is read/write. The default value is the hexadecimal number 18, which indicates the PROV_RSA_AES provider type. This provider type includes cryptographic service providers that use RSA key exchange and signatures, AES encryption, and SHA-256 hashing.

A cryptographic service provider type defines a group of cryptographic service providers use the same algorithms, the same key format, the same digital signature format, the same method for deriving a session key from a hash, the same key length, and the same default modes.
