Categories and subcategories in Microsoft Marketplace

Categories and subcategories are mapped to Microsoft Marketplace based on the solution type. When you create a Microsoft Marketplace offer in Partner Center, it will be listed in Microsoft Marketplace according to the offer type, categories, and other options you select. If an offer applies to multiple audiences, assign the categories and subcategories that make it discoverable across Microsoft Marketplace.

Select the categories and subcategories that best align with your solution. Assigning the appropriate categories and subcategories helps customers find your offer in Microsoft Marketplace. Microsoft Marketplace includes the new AI Apps and Agents category, which helps partners list AI apps and pre-built agents and makes those solutions more discoverable through dedicated filters and listings.

You can select:

• At least one and up to two categories. You can choose a primary and a secondary category.
• Up to two subcategories for each primary category. If you don't select any subcategories, your offer will still be discoverable under the selected category.
