Business value
This feature improves calculation models by letting organizations report emissions and other calculated outputs directly to more tables and custom fields within Microsoft Sustainability Manager. These capabilities let teams track more sustainability metrics, like non-GHG indicators, internal KPIs, and region-specific compliance requirements, within their existing workflows.
This results in greater flexibility, accuracy, and scalability in sustainability reporting, letting organizations adapt quickly to evolving standards and operational needs. This feature reduces reliance on external workarounds and improves auditability, supporting more tailored and robust reporting for internal and regulatory purposes.
Feature details
The calculation of nonemission metrics and the use of aggregations and joins as inputs to emissions calculations are enabled by default in Microsoft Sustainability Manager. Regular and advanced calculations (available in Premium) support these capabilities through the report node.
To use these functionalities, go to Calculations > Models, create your calculation model, and insert a report or report emissions node.
For report nodes, you can select the table and field to report the calculated values to, using multiple report nodes as needed for additional flexibility.
