Cookie Consent for Third-Party Platforms

Important

Starting October 31, 2025, Clarity begins enforcing consent signal requirements for page visits originating from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), and Switzerland (CH). A valid consent signal is required to ensure full functionality of Clarity features for users in these regions.

When using Clarity with third-party platforms like Wix, Webflow, WordPress, or Shopify, it's essential to ensure that a valid cookie consent mechanism is in place. Clarity must receive a consent signal before tracking scripts or first-party and third-party cookies are activated. Depending on the platform, this can happen automatically or require integration with a Consent Management Platform (CMP) or the Clarity Consent API.

Wix

Wix provides native support for cookie consent. Once the Wix cookie banner is enabled on your site, Clarity automatically detects the user's consent status. No additional configuration is required.

Webflow

Webflow does not offer built-in consent support compatible with Clarity. To ensure compliance and proper tracking, you must either integrate a supported CMP or use the Clarity Consent API or Google Consent Mode (GCM) to programmatically signal consent to Clarity.

WordPress

WordPress supports native consent management through a plugin. To enable consent management, install and configure the CookieYes plugin. Once set up, Clarity receives consent signals accordingly. Refer to the integration docs and available video tutorial for detailed setup steps.

Shopify

Shopify offers native support for cookie banners. To enable consent management, configure the Shopify cookie banner. Once set up, Clarity receives consent signals accordingly. Enabling this banner ensures Clarity receives the appropriate consent signal. No further action is needed at this time. Clarity's official app for Shopify is currently in development and will offer more seamless integration in the future.

General Integration Guidance

If you are using a platform not listed above or have a custom setup, you can manage consent manually by integrating the Clarity Consent API or Google Consent Mode (GCM). This gives you full control over when tracking is enabled based on user consent.
