Support for Google Consent Mode (GCM) in Clarity

Important

Starting October 31, 2025, Clarity begins enforcing consent signal requirements for page visits originating from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), and Switzerland (CH). A valid consent signal is required to ensure full functionality of Clarity features for users in these regions.

Clarity has integrated support for Google Consent Mode (GCM). Clarity automatically interprets and honors GCM consent signals, such as ad_storage and analytics_storage, based on user preferences.

What this means to you

  • If your website already uses GCM, no additional changes are required.
  • If your website doesn't use GCM and you choose to set it up with GCM, Clarity seamlessly recognizes and applies GCM consent signals without extra configuration.
