Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

You cannot combine or merge two Microsoft accounts. What you can do is choose one to keep, then close the other.

Here’s how to figure it out quickly:

Which account shows your email as the primary alias?

The account where your email shows as the primary alias is the one that controls it. That’s the one you should keep.

    Check subscriptions here:

If you want to clean this up:

    • Keep the account that owns your email
    • Move any data (emails/files) manually if needed
    • Then close the other account

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

I want to cancel one account, possibly upgrade but I need to keep my email address. How do I find out which account controls my email. Is there somewhere I can see ALL of my Microsoft accounts in one place?

Microsoft accounts cannot be linked, merged, or combined into a single account.

Each Microsoft account (including those created via Apple or GoDaddy email addresses) remains separate. Items such as purchases, subscriptions, game progress, account balance, and data cannot be transferred from one Microsoft account to another.

What can be done instead is to use the two accounts side by side, for example:

    • Add both accounts to Outlook so mail and calendars are visible together. See “Add accounts to Outlook” in the combining accounts article.
    • Use separate OneDrive locations and manually copy or drag and drop files between them if needed.
    • If one account has a Microsoft 365 Family subscription, that subscription can be shared with the other account, but the accounts themselves still stay separate.

If only one of the two accounts should remain in use, sign in to each, move any needed data manually (for example, download files and upload them to the other account’s OneDrive), then close the account that is no longer needed after verifying there are no remaining subscriptions or purchases required on it.
