Please provide a separate app for Teams Chat.

I primarily use Microsoft Teams for the Chat function. Unfortunately, Teams is a slow and cumbersome application that bogs down the rest of my computer's performance. This has been addressed in other posts in this forum, but the issue remains that Teams requires more computer memory and power than I prefer. The web browser version of Teams does not resolve this issue for me.
Thus, I would like to believe that creating a separate app just for Chats would improve a MS customer's experience.

    As a Teams user as well, I deeply understand and empathize with your experience when using Microsoft Teams. At the moment, Microsoft has not introduced a separate, lightweight Teams Chat application, as Teams is designed to function as an integrated collaboration platform.

    In many cases, users expect an “everything in one place” experience, and Microsoft positions Teams as a platform rather than just a messaging tool. However, I believe there are also many users who primarily focus on the chat and messaging features and would greatly benefit from a separate, lightweight Teams Chat app.

    To ensure this concern is thoughtfully considered and to help support the best possible experience for all users, or at least to explore potential improvements, I encourage you to raise this feedback directly through the appropriate channel: Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub
