Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Where are you seeing the Chinese characters? Is it on the Microsoft account page, Outlook, or somewhere else?
    2. Can you still sign in to your account?

If you haven't tried it yet. You’ll need to update your language settings under the "Your Info" page.

Let me know how it goes.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

Use the official recovery and unblock flows instead of trying to navigate the hacked mailbox UI.

    1. Start with the Sign-in Helper
      • Go to the Sign-in Helper, which is designed for hacked or blocked Microsoft/Outlook.com accounts:
      • Enter the email address or phone number for the hacked Outlook.com account.
      • The tool will guide through either self-help steps or offer the option to talk to an agent.
    2. Follow the hacked/compromised account guide
    3. If the account is blocked
      • If Outlook.com says the account is temporarily blocked due to unusual activity, use the unblock article:
      • From there, select Sign-in Helper and follow the prompts to verify identity and unblock.
    4. If sign-in or recovery still fails
      • Use the "When you can't sign in" link from the unblock article if codes or password reset do not work.
      • If still unable to recover, use the support options listed under Still need help? in the Outlook.com help articles to reach support or the community from another account.

Once access is restored, security info and language settings can be changed, and the account can be closed using the official "close your Microsoft account" instructions if desired.
