Hi all,

whenever I try to do a Teams call with my AirPods, the only thing that is getting played is a really really loud static. Everything else on Windows works fine.

Steps I already tried: Reboot Laptop, repair and reset AirPods, reinstall Teams, reinstall Audio drivers.

Do you maybe have an idea on what I could still try to fix it?

    Dear @Stefano Cocco,
From what you shared, I understand that when you join a Microsoft Teams call on Windows using AirPods Pro (3rd gen), you hear a very loud static noise. Other audio on Windows works as expected, and the issue only happens during Teams calls.

I found that some users met the same situation. This behavior is caused by how Bluetooth audio works on Windows.

When a call starts, Windows switches Bluetooth headsets into a hands‑free call mode with limited audio quality. AirPods are not Teams‑certified on Windows, so static or distortion during calls is expected behavior by design.

Therefore, I suggest some workarounds, which may help:

1/ In Teams > Settings > Devices, set Noise suppression to Auto or Low, and make sure Music mode / High‑fidelity music is turned off.

2/ Use AirPods for listening only (most reliable fix)

    Speaker: AirPods (Stereo)

Microphone: Built‑in laptop microphone or a wired/USB mic

This avoids the Bluetooth call mode that causes the static.

    3/ Reduce wireless interference

Use 5 GHz Wi‑Fi if available

Keep USB devices and hubs away from the laptop

Sit a bit farther from Wi‑Fi routers during calls

4/ If available, try a Teams‑certified headset for the most stable experience on Windows. For more information: Personal peripherals certified for Microsoft Teams
