We are unable to restore our Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server.

Source server:

Verified source server details from CLI:

  • earliestRestoreDate: 2026-04-01T19:45:13.942021+00:00
  • publicNetworkAccess: Enabled
  • backupRetentionDays: 7

Restore attempts that failed:

  1. Point-in-time restore Restore time: 2026-04-07T13:00:00+00:00 Failed from both Portal and Azure CLI with: InternalServerError - An unexpected error occured while processing the request. Tracking IDs:
    • fbc7409f-e063-4e30-ac97-8af4690211ac
    • 21fb2687-dedf-4c7a-b488-b858a0e8049b
  2. Fast restore from full backup Backup used: 2026-04-06T20:08:51.199443+00:00 Failed from Azure CLI with: InternalServerError - An unexpected error occured while processing the request. Tracking ID:
    • 424dda2f-fcfe-4a07-8100-6383d8c53e7a

Additional context:

  • We also saw a portal message indicating PostgreSQL upgrade was unavailable due to regional capacity constraints in North Europe.
  • Because both PITR and fast restore fail, and because this happens from both Portal and CLI, this appears to be a backend Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server restore issue rather than a portal/UI issue.

Please investigate and escalate to the Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server team, and confirm whether this is caused by a backend restore issue and/or North Europe regional capacity constraints.
