Sign-in failed Error code: interaction_required Error message: interaction_required: AADSTS5000225: This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity. To learn more about tenant lifecycle policies, see https://aka.ms/TenantLifecycle Trace ID: pii removed Correlation ID: pii removed Timestamp: 2026-04-08 09:14:21Z

MS were happy to take my credit card info, and are utterly useless at resolving the above issue, nothing works, can anyone help? I have no way to remove the card info that was entered

Al Harris thx for join us at Q&A,

yeah this is not a signup glitch, ur tenant got blocked for inactivity.

That exact AADSTS5000225 state means sign-in is blocked first, then the tenant gets deleted if nothing happens after the grace window. Microsoft support answers are saying u basically have up to 20 days from the block timestamp to get it reactivated. after that, its gone.

so the move is pretty simple if the timestamp in the error is recent, open a tenant reactivation / lockout case with Microsoft support right now and ask them to reactivate the tenant. if that block is already older than 20 days, dont waste time fighting the portal loop, bc the tenant is not recoverable and u need a fresh tenant instead.

about the credit card, from what Microsoft support responses say, u generally cant remove or change the card while the tenant is blocked, bc u need portal access first. so first step is reactivation. if the tenant cant be recovered, ask billing support to deal with the payment method / subscription side directly.

    rgds,

    Alex
