Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Dear Laura Hernandez
Thank you for sharing your issue.
From your description, you are trying to use your custom domain email (@eluxerealty.com) with your Microsoft 365 trial for email hosting, but you are unable to sign in because this email is currently associated with a personal Microsoft account.
The sign-in issue may be related to one of the following scenarios:
Account overlap Your email address (@eluxerealty.com) may already be associated with a personal Microsoft account. In such cases, conflicts can occur when attempting to sign in to Microsoft 365 services using the same email address. Browser session conflict If your personal and work accounts are being used within the same browser session (or without separate browser profiles), the browser may automatically apply saved credentials. This can lead to unexpected sign-in behavior or prevent access to the intended account.
To reduce potential conflicts between your personal Microsoft account and your Microsoft 365 work or school account, please try the following steps:
1/ Sign in using an Incognito/ Private browsing session Using a private browsing window ensures that no existing sessions, cached credentials, or stored cookies from your personal account interfere with the sign-in process.
Open a new Private window (Microsoft Edge).
Navigate to: https://www.office.com or https://admin.microsoft.com Enter your work email address (@eluxerealty.com) and proceed with sign-in.
2/ Create and use a separate browser profile (recommended for Microsoft Edge) Setting up a dedicated browser profile helps isolate your work account from your personal account, preventing automatic sign-in conflicts.
Open Microsoft Edge > Click the profile icon in the top-right corner Select “Set up a new profile”
Choose Work or school
Then follow the on-screen instructions to set up and sign in using the new browser profile. Within this profile, go to https://www.office.com and attempt to sign in again.
3/ Update the personal Microsoft account alias
Sign in to your personal Microsoft account Go to Your Info > Edit account info
Add a new email alias (for example, an @outlook.com address)
Set the new alias as primary
Remove the custom domain email (e.g., @eluxerealty.com) from the personal account
This will make the domain email available for exclusive use with your Microsoft 365 business account.
