    Dear @Mindy Miller,

I understand your frustration, and I sincerely apologize for the stress and missed meetings this has caused you. I know how annoying it is to constantly press buttons just when you need to start working. I want to help you resolve this issue completely, so you no longer have to deal with the login error loop.

To help me give you the exact solution and avoid giving you generic steps that might not work, could you please help me narrow down the problem by answering a few quick questions?

    • Are you using a Mac, a Windows PC, or a mobile phone?
    • Are you using the desktop app, the web client, or both?
    • Do you see a specific error message or error code when it fails? (Or does it just spin or loop back to the login screen?)
    • Is this a personal account or a work/school account provided by your organization?

Once I know these quick details, I will give you a direct, specific solution to get your meetings back on track. I look forward to receiving your feedback.

To make Teams sign-in more reliable, follow these steps in order and then use the same pattern every time there is a meeting.

    1. Before opening Teams
      • Make sure the required network/VPN is connected and stable (if work requires VPN, connect first).
      • Avoid switching Wi‑Fi or networks while Teams is open.
    2. Open Teams and respond to the sign-in banner
      • If Teams shows a banner or message asking to Sign in, select it immediately.
      • A sign-in window will open. Enter work/school email and password, and complete any multi-factor authentication (code, app approval, etc.).
      • After successful sign-in, the banner should disappear and chat/meetings will work.
    3. If the sign-in window does not appear
      • Check the system tray/notification area near the clock.
      • Look for the Teams icon with a dot or exclamation mark and select it to bring up the sign-in window.
      • If nothing happens, right-click the Teams icon and select Quit, then reopen Teams and try again.
    4. If Teams repeatedly asks to sign in or blocks access
      • Sign in again using the steps above.
      • If the banner keeps returning, contact the organization’s IT admin; there may be an issue with the domain or Office 365 account that only an admin can fix.
    5. If sign-in fails with an error code
      • On the Teams sign-in screen, note the status/error code shown (usually at the bottom-left or in the message).
      • Send that code to the IT admin or helpdesk; they can use it to diagnose the problem.
    6. If Teams Free is used
      • When a banner appears saying to sign in to regain access, select it and complete sign-in.
      • If the button is missing, use the system tray icon as above, or quit and reopen Teams.
    7. Keep Teams updated
      • In Teams, select the profile picture and choose Check for updates (if available) so the latest fixes for sign-in are installed.

Once sign-in succeeds and the banner is gone, leave Teams running and avoid logging out or changing networks right before meetings. Join meeting links only after confirming that Teams shows the correct signed-in account.
