HI Team,

I have just spent 4 hours trying to troubleshoot my printer as it is not communicating with my PC. Is there something in this latest update that is interfering with the communication to my printer? I installed this on $ April 2026. I am still able to print from my phone so there is no problem with the printer itself.

Under device settings/printers it states that I have the latest driver.

Could you kindly advise how the issue can be rectified?

Hi,

Okay, you'll remove all the Epson devices. Go to the port tab and remove any Epson devices there as well.

Open the command prompt (admin) and run the commands: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth. Wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

After restarting, check if the printer is still listed in the Start menu > Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers. If not, click Add and wait to see if the printer appears, then click Connect.

It took a bit of additional work to remove the Epson programs as they were still there. I was able to remove them using Revo Uninstaller (it worked this time). The printer didn't appear when I reconnected it. Gave it some time and nothing happened. I went to add a printer or scanner when I clicked on add device the button paled out and didn't do anything except that the settings application froze. I had to press CTRL/ALT/DEL to close the settings folder.

Hii,

Then perform a clean boot and if you want to uninstall applications that you do not use.

Access the start menu > settings > bluetooth & devices > View more devices > More devices and printer settings > Add a Printer > see if the printer is identified

Hi Ivan,

Still no success. when I connect the Epson ET-4500 usb printer it isn't recognized. It also won't let me download the latest update from Epson. To rule out any issue with the printer itself, I connected it to my son's Lenovo laptop which also has the 25H2 update and it automatically installed the Microsoft driver and printed a test page.

My system is HP HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF SBKPFIntel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz (3.60 GHz)

32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)

Windows 11 Pro 25H2

Do you have any further suggestions?

Hi,

If you're unsure, try using the local administrator account to see if the problem persists.

Open Terminal or Command Prompt as an Administrator and run the command net user administrator /active:yes.

Then restart your PC and log in as a local administrator and test again.

Hi,

Right-click on the Start menu and select Terminal (admin).

Try entering the command this time and see if the operation is successful.

net user administrator /active:yes

Was able to switch the account. Rebooted and the printer is still not found.

Hi,

In this case, check if you have any pending updates and if so, install the latest updates. If it doesn't work after the update, then your Windows may be corrupted. The repair update didn't fix the problems, so we'll have to refresh Windows to try and fix it.

There are no updates available from Windows. I ran sfc /scannow and there were no issues.

On the local administrator account, the printer simply didn't appear, or did it crash as it did before?

Hii,

Do you know how to see the printer's IP address?

Navigate to the printer's LCD and select Setup > Wi-Fi/Network Settings > Confirm Wi-Fi/Network Settings to display it on the screen

Search for Ipv4 or Ip address.

I have followed your instructions. The Epson Printer Driver won't install (hangs). It appears the computer doesn't like anything Epson related anymore.

This didn't work. The Epson uninstall keeps coming up with a no response message when working. I have also tried Revo Uninstaller and it also hangs. I am unable to uninstall any of the Epson apps. I don't have any issues in uninstalling any other programs.

Any other ideas>

Hii,

Disconnect the printer's USB cable from the PC.

After this procedure, you can set up a new print job. To do this, go to start menu > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers > Select Epson ET4500 and click Remove devices.

Press the WINDOWS key on your keyboard to display the Start screen, type printui /s /t2 and click on the search list.
