Hi @Jason Puckett,
Good day and thank you for reaching out.
To better understand why the Posting permissions option is missing, please clarifying the following"
- Is this a regular community or the All Company community?
- What is your current role in Viva Engage (Community Admin, Engage (Yammer) Admin, Network Admin, or Global Admin)?
- Are you accessing the community settings via Viva Engage on the web, Microsoft Teams, or Outlook?
- Is this community Microsoft 365-connected (backed by a Microsoft 365 group)?
- Are you trying to restrict posting to admins only, or to specific users?
- Do other admins in your tenant see the Posting permissions option for this same community?
- Was this community created manually by you, or automatically provisioned (for example, All Company or system-created)?
These questions will help determine whether this behavior is due to a role limitation, a community-type restriction, or a tenant-level configuration. Once I have a clearer understanding of your setup, I’ll be happy to assist more accurately. Please feel free to share any additional details you believe are relevant. Screenshots are especially helpful and appreciated.
In the meantime, the most important step is to verify your current admin role. Even if you created the community, the Posting permissions setting (Open vs. Restricted) is not available to standard Community Admins.
- A Community Admin must grant Community Admin rights to a Network Admin, and
- Only a Network Admin / Engage Admin can enable Restricted posting under Configuration > Posting permission
If you are only assigned the Community Admin role, this option will not appear in the community settings. In this case, you may need to contact your IT support team to request a higher-level admin role.
