Devops Test case execution history no longer shows previous results from other plans and suites

Although the UI is different, all historical data is still available. Here are the supported ways to access it:
Option 1: View full history from Test Plans
1.Go to Test Plans → Test plans

2.Select your Test Plan and Test Suite

3.Select the test poin

4.Open Execution history

5.Click View all history

6.Clear or adjust filters to include results from other plans and suites

This shows the complete execution history for the test case, including previous runs across plans and testers.

Option 2: Use the Test Run Hub

1.Go to Test Plans → Runs

2.Use filters (date, outcome, tester, test case ID)

3.Review pass/fail trends, frequency, and run details across all plans

The Test Run Hub is now the primary place for analyzing execution frequency and pass rates across plans and suites.

Option 3: View recent results directly from the Test Case

1.Open the Test Case work item

2.Check the Recent test results section

This provides quick visibility into the latest executions without navigating through suites.

Azure DevOps has recently introduced and is rolling out a new Test Run Hub and several changes around how test history is accessed and displayed.

Previously, execution history for a test point was accessed from the Test Plans grid via options like View execution history, which opened a page where filters could be adjusted to see history for the selected test point or the entire test case across runs.

In the newer experience (Sprint 268 and related updates):

1. New Test Run Hub
   • A dedicated Test Run Hub is being rolled out to General Availability.
   • It focuses on tracking and analyzing test runs, with improved stack trace views, attachments, search, and navigation from pipelines.
   • Test history is now more centered around runs and test results rather than the older inline view when opening a test directly from a suite.
2. Focused test point history from Test Plans page
   • Sprint 268 introduces a new, focused execution history for individual test points directly from the Test Plans page, with a View all history action to see the complete execution history for the associated test case.
   • This is explicitly called out as addressing the earlier limitation of not having an easy way to see point-specific history from the Test Plans page.
3. Recent test results surfaced in work items
   • A Recent test results section is being added directly in the test case work item, and a recent test result snippet is shown in user stories (Related Work section). This shifts visibility of history into work items and the Test Run Hub rather than the older suite-based dialog.
4. Timeline of change
   • The behavior change aligns with the rollout of the new Test Run Hub and Test Plans improvements in Sprint 268 and related roadmap items for 2025–2026. As these experiences become GA in an organization, the old inline history view behavior is replaced by the new point-history and run-centric views.

To regain similar visibility:

• Use Test Plans → Test plans and from the grid open the execution history for the specific test point, then choose View all history to see the full history for that test case.
• Use Test Plans → Runs (Test Run Hub) to analyze runs and outcomes across plans and suites.
• Use the Recent test results section in the test case work item and the recent test result snippet in user stories for quick, at-a-glance history.
