"Service Unavailable" Error on New Microsoft 365 Developer Account

Hi Microsoft Support Team,

I am writing to report a persistent issue with the Microsoft 365 Developer Program. I recently created a new account, but I have been unable to log in since last night. Every time I attempt to access the developer dashboard or the Admin Center, I receive the error: "The service is unavailable."

Here are the details of my situation:

Issue Duration: This has been happening for more than 12 hours.

Troubleshooting Done: I have already tried clearing my browser cache, using Incognito/InPrivate mode, and switching to a different network (mobile data), but the error persists.

The Problem: Since the error occurred immediately after the setup process, I haven't had the chance to record my new @onmicrosoft.com domain name or my admin email address.

Could you please verify the status of the tenant associated with my personal email: [YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL HERE]?

I urgently need to access my environment to continue my Power Apps and Dataverse development project.

Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi Kukuh Ika Raolana

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum and sharing your issue.

Based on your description, the “The service is unavailable” error immediately after tenant creation may indicate a provisioning delay or backend service issue affecting your newly created Microsoft 365 tenant. This can occasionally occur during initial setup, especially within the first 24 hours.

If this is a provisioning issue, it may resolve automatically within 24–48 hours. Please try accessing again after some time.

Since this is a user-to-user support forum, we do not have access to Microsoft 365 Developer Program backend systems to check or verify the status of your tenant.

If the issue still persists after some time, I recommend contacting Microsoft Developer Support through the Developer Program | Microsoft 365 Dev Center > Support for further assistance. Please note that Services Hub is intended for paid support tickets and access is subject to certain conditions.  You can find more details here Services Hub sign in FAQs | Microsoft Learn.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

The Microsoft 365 Developer Program subscription cannot be used to purchase or attach other paid services, and it is backed by a standard Microsoft 365 tenant. If sign-in to the Developer dashboard or Admin Center fails with service errors right after signup, the issue is typically on the service side rather than with browser or network.

Because tenant status and account details cannot be checked here, the only available guidance from the provided information is:

    1. Ensure the account used to sign up is a regular Microsoft account or work/school account, not the @onmicrosoft.com tenant admin account created by the subscription. The Developer Program blocks some scenarios involving *.onmicrosoft.com identities and does not allow using that subscription to buy other services.
    2. If the Developer tenant was created via Microsoft 365 Developer Program and is then used to sign up for Azure or other paid services, sign-up can fail with account-type errors. In that case, use a different account for Azure or other purchases, as Microsoft does not allow purchasing other paid services using the Developer Program subscription.
    3. If the issue persists beyond the usual provisioning window and affects access to the Admin Center and dashboard, contact Microsoft support (for example, via billing/support for Azure sign-up issues or Microsoft 365 support) so they can check the tenant state and correct any backend provisioning problems.

There is no supported way in the provided documentation to look up or recover the new @onmicrosoft.com tenant name from only a personal email beyond standard account recovery flows. If the email address used to join the Developer Program is forgotten, the documented recovery method is to use the phone-number-based username recovery flow on the Microsoft sign-in page.
