Microsoft Forms profile locale stuck on en‑US – backend reset required (classic settings 404)

My Microsoft Forms profile locale is stuck on en-US.

All of my Microsoft 365 settings are correctly configured for the UK:

• Tenant default language: English (United Kingdom)

• User language and region: English (United Kingdom)

• SharePoint regional settings: UK

• Browser language: en-GB

However, new Forms still show the date format as M/d/yyyy.

The classic Forms settings page returns a 404, so I cannot access the legacy interface to change the locale. This is the known issue where the Forms profile locale becomes stuck and requires a backend reset by Microsoft.

My tenant is a UK charity/education tenant and does not have access to admin-centre support, so escalation via this channel is required.

Happy to provide tenant ID privately.

Thanks for the response. This issue cannot be resolved through user settings.

It requires action from the Forms engineering team, as has been done for other organisations.

My admin centre does not include support entitlement, so I need assistance through this channel.

I am happy to provide any details privately if needed.

    Hi @David Johnson

To help investigate why your Microsoft Forms profile is still stuck on en‑us even though all of your tenant, user, SharePoint, and browser settings are set to English (UK), I will need a little more information, could you confirm these following:

1/ Are all new Forms stuck in the US date format, or only specific forms you created recently?

2/ Does this behavior occur across all browsers, including private/incognito mode?

3/ Does the issue happen to other users in your tenant, or only for your account?

4/ Have you recently changed your region or language settings, or has this been stuck for a long time?

5/ Are you accessing Forms through forms.microsoft.com, or through another entry point such as Teams or OneDrive?

6/ When you check your Forms profile from the top‑right account menu, does it display the correct region, or does it still show US?

7/ Regarding to the tenant, is your tenant managed by another third-party organization (e.g. GoDaddy) or can you still log-in via www.admin.microsoft.com

8/ Are you a Global Admin in the tenant?

In the meantime, you can try to contact Microsoft support via phone by following list of phone numbers available on this page: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

Note: Please understand that as a forum moderator, my primary goal is to provide helpful guidance and support through general troubleshooting steps. While I don’t have access to internal systems or test devices required to resolve backend/account issues, I truly appreciate your understanding of these limitations.

I hope you find this information helpful. If anything is unclear, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

    Thanks for the automated response.

This issue cannot be resolved through user settings or URL parameters.

It requires a backend reset of the Forms profile locale, which Microsoft Support has performed for other tenants.

My tenant does not have admin-centre support entitlement, so escalation via this channel is required.

Happy to provide tenant ID privately.
