To make a phone call with remaining Skype Credit now that Skype is retired, the Skype Dial Pad must be used from the Skype web portal or from Microsoft Teams Free, and the correct Skype account must be signed in.
- Confirm that the Skype account with the credit is being used:
- Sign in to the Skype profile page and verify the Skype Name matches the one mentioned in the retirement/credit emails (for example, the account name that might include “robinsonsbarn”).
- If signed in with a different Microsoft/Skype account, the credit will not appear and the dial pad will show “You don't have any paid product right now.”
- If the credit was deactivated for inactivity:
- Skype Credit is deactivated if not used for 180 days. It can be reactivated from the Skype Credit reactivation page. After reactivation, the Skype Dial Pad should recognize the account as having a paid product again.
- Place calls using the Skype Dial Pad (for remaining paid users only):
- After signing in with the correct account and ensuring the credit is active, use the Skype Dial Pad available from the Skype web portal or within Microsoft Teams Free to call landlines and mobile numbers. These entry points are only available to users with an active subscription, active Skype Number, or active Skype Credit.
- If still unable to access the dial pad or credit:
- Verify that the account still has active Skype Credit or a calling subscription. If there is no active paid product, the dial pad will not be available and new Skype Credit cannot be purchased because Skype has retired.
Note: Teams Free itself does not support general phone calling as a built-in feature; only remaining Skype paid users can call phone numbers via the Skype Dial Pad entry points.
