Displaying your screen content to others during a Teams meeting or call for collaboration
Hi Jenny Tan,
Based on your description, it is likely that your previous experience was conducted within a meeting, which is why the annotation option was available. In Microsoft Teams, the annotation feature is supported in meetings; however, there is currently no official documentation confirming that it is fully supported in 1:1 calls.
If you would like to use this feature, I recommend scheduling or starting a meeting instead of using a direct call. You can refer to the following article for more details: Use annotation while sharing your screen in Microsoft Teams
Additionally, to ensure that annotation is enabled in meeting, please check with your administrator in the Microsoft Teams admin center by following these steps:
- Go to the Teams admin center: https://admin.teams.microsoft.com
- Navigate to Meetings > Meeting policies
- Select the policy assigned to users (usually Global (Org-wide default))
- Ensure that "Collaborative annotations" is set to Enabled
I hope the information above is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.
