I am having a problem with Microsoft Forms. I am getting this Error.

Error message:

Session id: [Moderator note: personal info removed], Correlation id: [Moderator note: personal info removed]

I have checked/confirmed permissions to the site and I should have access even though it says I need access.

Can I please get some help with this? It is critical part of my job and need to have access.

I appreciate you help in advanced.

Thank you,

EDZ

The error and access prompt indicate a Forms/tenant configuration or service issue rather than simple SharePoint permissions.

For a business (Microsoft 365) tenant, the most common cause in this scenario is that the Microsoft Forms backend service principal is disabled. This prevents Forms from issuing tokens and can cause generic “need access” or “something went wrong” errors even when SharePoint permissions look correct.

Ask a Microsoft 365/Azure administrator in the tenant to perform these steps:

    1. Sign in to the Azure portal: https://portal.azure.com/.
    2. In the left pane, select Microsoft Entra ID.
    3. Select Enterprise applications.
    4. Clear the default filter by selecting the X next to Application Type == EnterpriseApplications.
    5. In the Search box, type Office Hive.
    6. Select Office Hive from the results.
    7. Under MANAGE, select Properties.
    8. Set Enabled for users to sign-in to Yes, then select Save.

This re-enables the Office Hive / CollabDBService service that Microsoft Forms relies on. Once enabled, retry opening the survey.

If Forms is still not accessible after this change, the tenant admin should also verify that Microsoft Forms is turned on for the organization as described in the Forms admin controls documentation.
