• On the client side, prerequisites are similar to previous feature updates. You should ensure at least 20 GB of free disk space for the upgrade process, though more is recommended to avoid issues. Devices must also be fully patched with the latest cumulative updates before attempting the upgrade.
• Regarding Group Policy Object (GPO) administrative templates, there are minor differences between 23H2 and 25H2, primarily reflecting new features introduced in 25H2. Microsoft typically publishes updated ADMX templates with each feature release, so you’ll want to download and import the latest set once you begin managing 25H2 clients.
• As for Hyper-V Server 2022, Windows 11 Enterprise 25H2 clients can operate on it without special configuration changes. The compatibility is maintained, though you should confirm integration services are updated and that the VM configuration meets Windows 11 hardware requirements.
• Finally, the upgrade path: Windows 11 25H2 is delivered as an enablement package for devices already on 24H2. This means you cannot upgrade directly from 23H2 to 25H2 via WSUS.
