SSRS 2022 is the last version Microsoft released, and starting with SQL Server 2025, SSRS is no longer included. While SSRS 2022 can technically connect to SQL Server 2025 Express, this combination is not officially documented or supported by Microsoft, and Express edition does not provide reporting rights for production use. If you are currently on SQL Server 2022 with SSRS 2022, that setup is still fully supported and there is no urgent need to upgrade. For future upgrades, Microsoft recommends moving to Power BI Report Server with a licensed SQL Server edition.
