Teams app works perfectly on my lap top. I cannot access this app on my cell phone even though I have downloaded Teams successfully. I uninstalled this app, then reinstalled but it will not allow me to sign in

    Linda,

Are you signing into Teams using a personal or an organization account?

When you cannot sign in, can you tell me if it provides any error, if so, what does the error say? Any information to describe the difficulty signing in would be helpful.

Try these steps in order on the mobile phone:

    1. Confirm the correct account
      • If signed in with a personal Microsoft account instead of a work/school account, Teams may appear empty or not show expected content. Make sure the work or school account (the same one that works on the laptop) is used. If needed, sign out of the personal account and add the work/school account as described in adding a work or school account from within Teams.
    2. Re‑authenticate when prompted
      • If Teams shows a banner asking to sign in again, tap Sign in and complete any extra steps such as multi-factor authentication (code, SMS, or phone prompt). Without completing this, Teams will block chats, calls, and meetings on the device.
    3. Fully close and reopen Teams
      • Force-close the Teams app on the phone, then reopen it and try signing in again.
    4. Check network/VPN requirements
      • If the organization requires a specific network (for example, VPN) to access Teams, connect to that network before opening the app.
      • Avoid switching between Wi‑Fi/mobile data while signing in.
    5. Try the web version on the phone
      • Open a browser on the phone and go to https://teams.microsoft.com and sign in with the same account used on the laptop. If this works, the issue is likely with the mobile app itself.
    6. Update or reinstall again
      • Ensure the Teams mobile app is updated to the latest version.
      • If problems persist, uninstall Teams again and reinstall it from the official app store, then sign in with the same work/school account.

If sign-in still fails after these steps, contact the organization’s IT admin to check for account, license, or sign-in policy issues that may block mobile access.
