In the phone link app, how are messages unhidden? Since this message must contain 50 characters, I will repeat my issue: In the MS phone link app how do I unhide messages?

I found the solution. In the list of messages, you have a recent group which you can collapse and you will see your hidden group below (or just scroll for miles). Then you can unhide the conversation just as easily as hiding it.

Hi Ethelyn, Phone Link does not hide or unhide messages itself. If a conversation is hidden, you need to unhide it on your phone’s Messages app (check Archived or Hidden folders) and then refresh Phone Link on your PC. The app mirrors messages from your device and cannot manage hidden threads independently.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be true. Archiving a conversation on Messages app on Android doesn't hide it on Phone Link. Nor does marking it as spam. You have to additionally hide it in Phone Link.

However, if you accidentally hide a conversation in Phone Link, it is hidden and no longer sync in Phone Link (at least not visibly). Hiding a conversation does not archive it in the Messages app on Android. There must be a config or registry flag or something on the PC that persists the hidden threads.

Phone Link does not have a manual “hide/unhide” feature for individual SMS messages or threads.

If messages are missing or not visible, the causes and remedies are:

Check that message sync is enabled
- On the PC, open Phone Link.
- Go to Settings > Features > Messages.
- Turn on:
  - Allow this app to show text messages from my phone
  - Allow this app to send MMS attachments from my phone
  - Allow this app to receive MMS attachments from my phone
  - Automatically download MMS attachments from my phone
Be aware of built‑in limits and behavior
- Only text messages from roughly the last 30 days are shown to minimize bandwidth and improve performance.
- For iPhone:
  - Only messages sent/received while the iPhone and PC are paired and connected via Bluetooth appear.
  - Disconnecting Bluetooth removes this history from Phone Link; it reappears only for messages exchanged while connected.
  - Group messages and media (images, GIFs, Memojis) are not supported; these cannot be “unhidden.”
Third‑party messaging apps
- If a third‑party app (e.g., non‑default SMS app) is used as the primary messaging platform, those messages may not appear in Phone Link. Only regular SMS/MMS from the default messaging app are supported.
Android 15 “Sensitive notifications” (notifications only)
- Some SMS containing codes or sensitive content may be hidden in the notifications feed due to Android 15’s Sensitive Notifications feature. These cannot be shown in Phone Link and must be viewed directly on the phone.

If messages are not visible after confirming these settings and limitations, they are not hidden by a toggle in Phone Link; they are simply not available to the app under current platform and permission constraints.
