    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question.

I understand how unsettling it feels when it looks like your email might be exposed, and I want to help you regain control of your account and your shared list.

In most cases, nothing has direct access to your OneDrive files; instead, the Shared tab can show links or items that others shared with you, even if the sender is unknown or unwanted. This usually happens when someone obtains your email address and sends a share link, which places those items in your “Shared with you” view, but it does not mean your account was breached.

To resolve this, you can remove those share links by selecting the item and choosing Remove from shared list (this does not delete any files in your OneDrive). If you suspect your email was used widely, you can also review your Microsoft account security settings, reset your password, turn on two‑step verification, and check for unusual activity. These steps help make sure only you can use your account and keep your shared area clear going forward.

Before we move forward, can you tell me whether the items appear under Shared → Shared with you or Shared → Shared by you? That helps pinpoint exactly which steps you’ll need.

Feel free to follow up, and I’ll guide you step by step until everything looks secure again.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel

To prevent unknown senders from sharing content with you on OneDrive, you can take the following steps:

    1. Turn Off Notifications: If you're receiving notifications for shared folders from unknown senders, you can turn off these notifications in your OneDrive settings. This won't stop the shares but will prevent you from being alerted about them.
2. Review Sharing Settings: You cannot completely block random people from sharing files with you, but you can manage your sharing settings to restrict who can share content with you. Consider adjusting your privacy settings in OneDrive to limit sharing options.
    3. Report Spam: If you receive unwanted sharing invitations, you can report them as spam through your email provider. This may help reduce the number of unsolicited shares you receive.
    4. Use Data Loss Prevention (DLP): If you are concerned about sensitive content being shared, you can implement Data Loss Prevention policies to manage sharing more effectively. This can help prevent unauthorized sharing of sensitive information.
    5. Stay Informed: Keep an eye on updates from Microsoft regarding security and sharing practices to ensure your account remains secure.

Unfortunately, there is no direct way to remove your email from being accessed by unknown senders in shared folders, as this is a feature of OneDrive that allows for open sharing. However, following the above steps can help manage your experience with shared content.
