How to fix "Looking for Changes" Loop on OneDrive-MacOS

My OneDrive has been looping "looking for changes" then "your files are synced" ever since I got my Mac. It takes up a lot of CPU and battery, and while I can pause syncing, which "resolves" the issue, the pause removes after 24hrs and is incredibly annoying to deal with.

I've tried reinstalling, I've tried clearing the caches, and deleting it fully from ~/Library/CloudStorage but nothing works.

I'm on a 15in M4 MacBook Air, 24gb RAM, 256ssd

Any help would be greatly appreciated

To address the "Looking for Changes" loop issue on OneDrive for Mac, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Update OneDrive: Ensure that you have the latest version of the OneDrive app installed. Sometimes, issues can arise from outdated software.
    2. Clear Cached Files: Clearing cached files from the Microsoft Office Upload Center can help resolve syncing issues. To do this:
      • Locate the Microsoft Office Upload Center icon in your taskbar.
      • Right-click the icon, select Settings, then choose Delete cached files and confirm.
    3. Stop and Resync Libraries: If the problem persists, consider stopping and resyncing your libraries. This can refresh the connection and resolve syncing issues.
    4. Check for Conflicts: Sometimes, conflicts can cause sync issues. Check if there are any conflicts with files that need to be resolved.
    5. Reset Internet Explorer Settings: If you are using Internet Explorer for syncing, resetting its settings might help.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you might want to consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
