Windows 11: how to enlarge what's on the screen?

I just got a new work computer with Windows 11. In Windows 10, I was able to use Ctrl + to enlarge everything on the screen (zoom to over 100%). How can I do that in Windows 11?

(Sorry to ask this again, but apparently AI answered my previous post. But I can't see that answer)

    Hello Victoria Hayne,

It is important to note that the standard shortcut for this in both Windows 10 and Windows 11 is Windows Key + Plus (+). The shortcut you mentioned, Ctrl + Plus (+), is technically restricted to zooming content inside specific applications (like web browsers or Word documents) and does not scale the entire operating system. It is likely you were using the Windows key combination previously, as that is the native hotkey for system-wide zooming.

To replicate this in Windows 11, press the Windows Key + Plus (+). This will instantly launch the Magnifier and zoom in on your screen. You can subsequently use Windows Key + Minus (-) to reduce the zoom level or Windows Key + Esc to close the tool entirely. If you simply want to resize desktop icons or content within a window, holding Ctrl and scrolling your mouse wheel up or down will still function as it did in previous versions, but for the full screen zoom you are looking for, the Windows key is required.

I hope you've found something useful here. If it helps you get more insight into the issue, it's appreciated to accept the answer. Should you have more questions, feel free to leave a message. Have a nice day!

    VP

In Windows 11, you can enlarge what's on the screen using several methods:

    1. Magnifier: You can use the built-in Magnifier tool to zoom in on parts of your screen. To activate it, press Windows + Plus (+) to open the Magnifier. You can then use the Windows + Plus (+) to zoom in and Windows + Minus (-) to zoom out.
    2. Text Scaling: You can adjust the text size across the OS and applications. To do this, go to Settings > Accessibility > Text size and use the slider to increase the text size from 100% up to 225%.
    3. Display Settings: You can also change the display scaling settings. Go to Settings > System > Display and under the Scale and layout section, you can select a scaling percentage that suits your needs.

These methods should help you enlarge what's displayed on your screen effectively.
