It seems that the disk optimizer is unable to recognize a WD Blue WDS200T2BAO-00SM50 as a SSD and instead treats it like a hard disk. SSD use TRIM command but Redmond cannot even get that right.

The issue you are experiencing with the disk optimizer not recognizing the WD Blue WDS200T2BAO-00SM50 as an SSD could be related to how the operating system identifies storage devices. Windows uses the TRIM command to manage SSDs effectively, which helps in optimizing their performance by notifying the SSD that certain blocks of data are no longer needed. However, if the disk optimizer is treating your SSD like a traditional hard disk, it may not be sending TRIM commands as expected.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can check the following:

    1. Ensure that your SSD's firmware is up to date, as manufacturers often release updates to improve compatibility and performance.
    2. Verify that the SSD is connected properly and recognized correctly in the BIOS/UEFI settings.
    3. Consider using third-party disk management tools that might better recognize and optimize SSDs.

If the problem persists, you may want to consult the manufacturer’s support resources for further assistance.

    Hi,

is this drive system one? Windows may need to defragment SSD. E.g.,my C: SSD is trimmed weekly and defragmented monthly. SSD defragmentation is gentle enough and less strong as HDD's one.

Please give more information about your analysis method.

You may save application journal to EVTX file and share it to OneDrive so I could look at it.
