I have deleted a SQL Server because of redeployment.
Before doing the redeployment I have exported the databases to BACPAC files in a storage account, but now it turns out there's no data in these bacpac files.

    Hi Kim,**
** I see you're in a bit of a pickle with your deleted SQL Server and the issues with the BACPAC files. Here's the scoop:

    1. Understanding Your Situation: Once an Azure SQL Server is deleted, it generally leads to the deletion of all associated databases and their backups. If you've deleted the server outright, recovering the databases from the BACPAC files might be your best shot, unless they are indeed empty.
    2. Restoration Options:
      • If the server was deleted within the last 7 days, Azure allows for recovery under certain conditions. You might be able to restore the SQL Server and its databases using Azure Portal or PowerShell. Here are the steps:
        • Navigate to the Azure Portal.
        • Look for your resource under Deleted databases if it’s still available.
        • If you can find it, select the database you want to restore and specify a new database name.
      • If you have configured Long-Term Retention (LTR) for your databases, you can restore from those backups as well.
    3. BACPAC Files:
      • If you exported your databases to BACPAC files but they're empty, unfortunately, there's not much that can be done unless you have previous backups elsewhere or any geo-replicated databases that might have the data.
    4. Next Steps:
      • If the basic recovery methods mentioned above don’t work due to the deletion type or timeline, you might need to provide more information about your situation to support, such as:
        • Server name and region.
        • Details about any attempts to restore.
        • Confirmation on whether LTR was set up or not.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or if you need clarification on anything.
