Rocky 10 has been around a while now.

RHEL 10 is support in the AZCMAgent for a while now.

We've just built a new Rocky 10 server as there is no migration path from 9 -> 10 and support for 10 will be longer than the current 9.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about when (or even if!) they will support rocky 10 ?

Pete.

Please don't post info about Rocky 10 not currently being support. I know it's not currently supported. This question is specifically asking if anyone has heard anything about it going to be (or not be) supported.

Currently, the Azure Connected Machine Agent supports Rocky Linux 8 and 9, but there is no mention of support for Rocky Linux 10 in the available documentation. The support for Rocky Linux 9 was added in version 1.23 of the agent, and the most recent version noted is 1.37, which continues to support Rocky Linux 9 but does not include any updates regarding Rocky Linux 10. Therefore, it is unclear when or if support for Rocky Linux 10 will be introduced.

    Hello Peter Brigham

It sounds like you're eager to know about the support for Rocky 10 with the Azure Connected Machine Agent (AzCMAgent). Currently, there's no official announcement regarding support for Rocky Linux 10. You rightly pointed out that Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 10 is supported, but as of now, Rocky 10 isn't included in the supported operating systems for the AzCMAgent.

The Azure Connected Machine Agent continues to receive updates, and the most recent versions have added support for various distributions but didn't mention Rocky 10 specifically. Since you’re looking for any insider info on when or if it will support Rocky 10, you might want to keep an eye on the Agent Release Notes as these documents provide insights on newly supported distributions and improvements.

In the meantime, if you'd like to get more information, here are a few follow-up questions that could help clarify:

    1. Are you currently using the Azure Connected Machine Agent with another OS, or are you looking to transition from Rocky 9 to 10?
    2. Have you encountered any specific challenges with your current setup that community members could help troubleshoot?
    3. Do you have any specific use cases in mind for Rocky 10 that would help emphasize the need for this support?

    Thanks,

    Suchitra.
