The “Place image in cell” feature only works on:

Microsoft 365

• Windows: Version 2210 (Build 15726.20202) or later
• On the Current Channel or Beta Channel

If your work PC is on the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel, the feature will NOT appear even if Excel is fully updated.

Fix

Open Excel → Account.

Under About Excel, note:

• Version number
• Update Channel (Current / Monthly Enterprise / Semi-Annual / Beta)

If it shows Semi-Annual → this is why the feature does not work.

Only IT can switch update channels on enterprise accounts. Ask IT to move you to Current Channel, which supports new features earlier.
