Hello @Vadym Miakishev
Welcome to Q&A forum!
Previously, you could just click and subscribe. Now you have to copy and paste, which feels like a step backward
To clarify this issue for you, I want to provide it for your information:
- Older calendar apps (classic Outlook, Apple Calendar, Thunderbird) understand links starting with
webcal://and automatically open the subscription dialog when you click them. - The new Outlook (based on the modern web interface) does not fully support the
webcal://protocol. When you click such a link in your browser, it doesn’t know which app to use. - If you paste the link manually into Outlook’s “Subscribe from web” field, it works because Outlook can read the
.icsfile internally.
I appreciate that you have raised it in our community and I believe many other users also have the same concern as you. Therefore, it would be really valuable if you could visit the Feedback community to find similar feedback and vote for it. Our product team is in charge of the site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback, The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. And a lot of the features are developed and improved based on customer feedback.
You can also submit your own feedback through the Microsoft Ideas Community to request that this feature be brought back Outlook · Community
After sending your feedback, you can share the link in this thread so I and other users can vote it to gain more attentions.
Thank you for your patience and kindness in this matter.
