Hello, i have another microsoft account (not this one that i use to ask questions) with purchases inside and when i try to log in, it keeps telling me "Parent or guardian consent is required for this account." despite this account being a standalone account, i've tried logging in with both code and password and it brings me back to this screen asking for parental consent, is there a way for me to sign in?

Thanks for sharing the details, Khairan! Try to turn off "App and services for kids" (even for adult accounts!)

This is a lesser-known cause. If Microsoft internally flags your account as a “kid account,” the OS blocks login to any app.

    Try this:

    • Sign in to any browser with the stuck account.
    • Go to: https://account.live.com/Consent/Manage
    • Look for: "Apps and services that have access to your info" or "Apps and services for kids"
    • Disable/Remove everything listed there.
    • Log out → Log in again.

This breaks the loop when the consent prompt is triggered by an app rather than age.

See if this helps. If you need further assistance just let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly
