I am from PT. H, our client is PT. X, their customer is PT. Z and LSP or Distributor is PT. ABC

Originally, PT. Z Purchases "Microsoft D365 Customer Service Sub Per

User" for 214 users direct to other party name PT. ABC. Meanwhile for the Professional Services, PT. Z opt to PT. X. Then, PT. X give this professional services to subcontractor, my employer PT. H. The requirement is for the product to be implemented into the PT. Z On-premise server. Also both PT. X and PT. H clearly stated in each their proposal that The Requirements is for On-Premise deployment and Any License Required is out of scope.

Now, PT. H is at the end of timeline and about to deploy the product purchased by PT. Z into production machine but stumbled in Product Activation Key during the installation process.

PT. H, as mentioned, is only Professional Services but initiatively help PT. Z to search through their internal for the Product Activation Key. PT. H also reach out to both PT. X as main contractor and PT. ABC as Distributor, but still PT. Z unable to locate the key.

In defense of our Scope of Work and due to the near end timeline, I want to put an end to this Product Activation Key searching and Handover it to the client and their customer for this matter to be taken care to the stakeholders.

Please advise me how to end this predicament with goal to obtain the Activation key for the good of all parties.

To obtain the Product Activation Key for Microsoft D365 Customer Service, you can follow these steps:

    1. Contact the Distributor: Since PT. ABC is the distributor, they should have access to the activation keys associated with the licenses purchased by PT. Z. It’s essential to reach out to them again and provide all necessary details about the purchase to facilitate the search.
    2. Check the Volume Licensing Service Center: If PT. Z has a volume licensing agreement, they can log into the Volume Licensing Service Center to retrieve their product keys. This is often the most straightforward way to access keys for Microsoft products.
    3. Reach Out to Microsoft Support: If the above methods do not yield results, contacting Microsoft support directly may help. They can assist in locating the activation key based on the purchase details. Ensure that PT. Z has the necessary documentation ready to verify their purchase.
    4. Document the Process: As you proceed, document all communications and attempts to retrieve the activation key. This will be useful to show that PT. H has made reasonable efforts to assist PT. Z in obtaining the key, even if it is outside the scope of work.
    5. Communicate Clearly with Stakeholders: Inform all stakeholders (PT. Z, PT. X, and PT. ABC) about the situation and the steps being taken. This transparency can help manage expectations and facilitate cooperation among parties.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue regarding the Product Activation Key effectively.

PT. Z has a volume licensing agreement, they already logged into the Admin Central instead of Volume Licensing Service Center (unaccessible) but unable to locate their product keys.

    Dear @Phincon Dev,

Good day. Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

First of all, I want to begin by sincerely apologizing for the frustration and inconvenience this issue has caused you.

Regarding your inquiry, I would like to clarify some information:

    • This is to formally document that the missing activation key is outside PT. H’s contractual scope. We do not have any formal documentation to provide in this regard.
    • Please note that PT. H has assisted beyond the agreed scope. However, responsibility for these keys now lies with the stakeholders who purchased and distributed the licenses. Any further action must involve locating those parties.
    • This approach ensures transparency, protects PT. H’s obligations, and places responsibility back on the parties controlling licensing.
    • Please kindly communicate clearly to PT. Z (and copy PT. X and PT. ABC) that the deployment cannot proceed until the activation key is provided.

Thank you for your precious time. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated.

Please feel free to reply below if you have any update or further concern!
